As a small not-for-profit voluntary organisation, FRA is not required to register with the Information Commissioner under the Data Protection Act but it is still required to comply with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018.
FRA runs a secure database which holds information for the purposes of maintaining its membership list, accounting for funds held, keeping members informed of local matters and organising social events. Without consent the information is not shared beyond members
of the FRA committees, who keep it confidential. Records hold the following:
A. Data on a member household:
• Postal address
• Phone number (landline)
• Funds donated
B. Data on an adult member of the household:
• Surname
• Forename
• Phone number (mobile)
• Email address
+ Miscellaneous other information entered sometimes on membership forms
+ Ticket sales for particular functions
In supplying Furzehill Residents Association (FRA) with some or all of this information, you imply consent for the committee to hold and use it. However, the GDPR requires the committee to give you the opportunity: (a) to check and correct the data it holds on you and your household; and
(b) to ‘opt out’ at any time from your consent for it to hold and use the data. Please email admin@furzehillresidents.co.uk if you would like a printout of the data held on you and your household, if you would like some or all of your the data removed, or if you have a question on
the subject.
